Why should I trust you?
Hiring one person to build and run your website is different from hiring an agency — you’re trusting a name, not a logo, and it’s fair to ask why that should feel safe. Here’s what I can actually show you about working with a Baton Rouge web designer, not just tell you.
Who am I?
There’s no team behind any site I build. I design it, build it, and take care of it myself, so the person you talk to before you sign up is the same person who answers when something needs fixing. I grew up in Krotz Springs, Louisiana, spent ten-plus years in IT helping people around my community, and now live in Baton Rouge. More on About.
Do you have real clients?
Two, live today: J&L Custom Gates, a father-and-son iron gate shop in Krotz Springs, and Louisiana Bonsai Society, a bonsai club in Baton Rouge. Both case studies show real screenshots of the finished sites, not mockups — see the work for both. Jon Satterley of J&L Custom Gates put it this way on Facebook:
“If anyone needs a website get with Brandt Hatten he’s the man”
What happens if I want to leave?
Cancel any time and your site stays up, your domain stays yours, and I send you the files. That’s not a grace period or a countdown — it’s the deal from day one, and it’s written into Care plans. If a project itself is cancelled early, whether the design fee is refunded depends on the work already done — that’s decided case by case, not automatically kept or automatically returned; the full policy is on Care plan terms.
How do I pay, and do I get a receipt?
One invoice link starts everything — the design fee and your care plan, through Stripe. You get an emailed receipt automatically for the payment. What data the site collects and what happens to it is written out plainly on Privacy, not buried in a document nobody reads.
What if I’m not sure a one-person studio can handle my site?
The sites I build are plain, fast, and static on purpose — changes made by hand and tested before they go live, with a signed-in area of your own if your business needs one, the way Louisiana Bonsai Society’s board manages its own meetings, events, and gallery. That’s less to go wrong and less for one person to stay on top of. This site scores 99 to 100 on Google’s Lighthouse test.

What’s next?
Look at the work before you decide, or just tell me about your business and what’s making you hesitate about hiring one person instead of a company. I’ll answer straight, and there’s no pressure either way.
