Do I need a website care plan?

A website care plan is the monthly part of the deal — someone checking on the site after it’s live, watching for problems, and making the small changes a business asks for, instead of building a site and walking away. Here’s what actually happens to a site nobody looks after and what a plan covers when someone does.

What happens to a website nobody looks after?

None of this needs to happen, but it does when nobody’s watching:

  • A domain renews every year — miss the renewal and the site can go dark until it’s paid.
  • The software behind a site gets less safe over time, as security holes are found and patched elsewhere, whether or not anyone updates your copy of it.
  • A contact form that quietly stops delivering messages loses you every customer who filled it out, and you might not notice for months.

A care plan is built to make sure none of that happens without you knowing.

What does a care plan actually cover?

Every tier I offer includes unlimited small edits — text, photos, prices, hours, staff — one request at a time, tested before anything goes live. Every tier also watches uptime, keeps security updates current, and checks that your forms are still delivering; higher tiers add faster turnaround and larger work included, like a new page or a new feature, on a schedule that gets shorter as the tier goes up.

  • Essential$30a monthUp to about five pages, with a simple contact form
  • Plus$60a monthUp to about fifteen pages, with a contact or quote form, payments, or member logins
  • Managed Growth$100a monthOne site of any size, including booking, quote, payment, or member login flows
  • EnterpriseQuotedMore than one site or a business with several locations

See care plan tiers for what each one includes.

What if something on my site breaks?

That’s what “watching uptime” means: every plan watches uptime and form delivery, so a site that goes down or a form that stops delivering is something being checked for. If it happens, you can let me know in one email.

Do I have to take one?

Most jobs I take on come with a care plan attached — for the most part, I don’t build a site without one. Essential fits a site of up to about five pages with a simple contact form; a bigger site or one that takes payments or member logins moves up the ladder from there.

Can I cancel it?

Yes. Email me and say you want to cancel — no form, no notice period. If you cancel partway through a paid month, the plan runs through the end of that month; that month itself isn’t refunded. The full policy is on Care plan terms.

Cancel any time and your site stays up, your domain stays yours, and I send you the files.

What’s next?

Tell me about your business and I’ll tell you which plan fits. If you already know you want ongoing care, say so and I’ll build that into the quote from the start.
