Louisiana Bonsai Society

A website for Louisiana Bonsai Society, a bonsai club in Baton Rouge founded October 15, 1976. The site has two jobs: bring a visitor to a meeting, and give paid members and the board a signed-in area of their own.

The Louisiana Bonsai Society home page: a serif headline, the next meeting's date on a white card, and a photo of a juniper bonsai on a stand.

The club

The club meets monthly at the Baton Rouge Garden Center and is a member club of the Lone Star Bonsai Federation. Membership skews older, and several members have trouble seeing — the site’s design carries large, high-legibility type because of that.

What the site does

The next meeting date is computed automatically from the club’s own third-Tuesday rule, so a month without a site update can’t show a past date. Paid members and board members sign in to a members-only area to see officer contacts, and the board can edit meetings, events, documents, officers, and a gallery of trees themselves, without a developer.

The care plan

Louisiana Bonsai Society has been live since September 17, 2026, on the Plus plan. What that plan covers is on the Care plans page.
